I'm PixieOnTV — a small variety gaming streamer, which is a fancy way of saying I play whatever I feel like and stream it to whoever's willing to watch, across Twitch, YouTube, Kick, and TikTok at the same time.
And therein lies the problem. Streaming to one platform is already a lot to keep track of. Streaming to four means four chat windows, four sets of alerts, and approximately zero brain cells left over to actually enjoy the game I'm supposedly playing.
So I went looking for a fix
There are genuinely great tools out there that unify multi-platform chat — some of which I'll happily point you toward later on this site. But every one I tried was either missing something I actually needed, or came with a learning curve steep enough that I spent more time configuring it than streaming with it. I didn't want a second job. I wanted my chat in one place and to get back to playing.
"I just want to read my chat, hear it out loud, and put it on stream. Why is this an afternoon project."
So I built one. Just for me — for my own stream, on my own PC, with zero intention of anyone else ever seeing it. No launch plan, no roadmap, no "market research." I genuinely just wanted something that sat quietly on my second monitor and did its job while I got shot in the face in whatever game I was playing that week.
And it worked. Once I'd been using it myself for a while, it started to seem a bit silly to keep it to myself — if it was solving a problem for me, it was probably solving the exact same problem for a bunch of other streamers juggling the exact same platforms. So I cleaned it up, made it not-terrifying to set up, and decided to just give it away.
Here's the part where I confess something
I studied Electrical Engineering for a year. I am telling you this so you have realistic expectations, not because it makes me qualified. It mostly taught me that circuits are hard and that I should perhaps reconsider my choices — reconsideration which, evidently, led me here instead.
I am not a software engineer. I am not a "technical guru." What I actually am is someone who got extremely stubborn, opened up Claude and ChatGPT, and asked a genuinely unreasonable number of questions until a real, working app came out the other end. PixelyChat exists because modern AI tools made it possible for someone like me — determined, mildly obsessive, definitely not a programmer — to build something I couldn't have built alone five years ago.
I think that's actually kind of exciting, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise just to sound more impressive.
Why it's simple on purpose
Every choice in PixelyChat comes back to one question: does this help someone spend more time streaming and less time fighting with settings? If a feature couldn't clear that bar, it didn't make the cut — including, notably, a bunch of things I genuinely thought about adding and then talked myself out of.
Why is PixelyChat free?
I built PixelyChat because I know how frustrating it can be to find a great tool, only to discover that the features you actually need are locked behind another monthly subscription.
As a streamer myself, I wanted something different. Streaming already comes with plenty of costs, and not everyone has the same income or the ability to pay for multiple subscriptions every month. This is especially true for creators in countries where average incomes are much lower, such as Indonesia.
So I decided to build PixelyChat differently.
PixelyChat is free because I want useful streaming tools to be accessible to everyone — not just to people who can afford another monthly subscription. There are no licenses to buy, no recurring fees, and no “Pro” plan hiding the features that make the application genuinely useful.
For me, this is a way of giving something back to the streaming community and creating a tool that I would have wanted to use myself.
Simple. Powerful. Free.
